
Supv Clinical (MGM)

Reports to the Practice Manager of the respective site within BMG. In collaboration with the Practice Manager, is responsible for the effective coordination of all daily operational support functions for the assigned facility and performs duties necessary to maintain a smooth, efficient physician office. Responds to daily operational issues when the Practice Manager is absent or unavailable.

Responsibilities
Operational Staffing Support
Maintaining overall responsibility for scheduling staff to provide adequate coverage for nursing, radiology, and laboratory areas.
Supervising nursing care area, lab areas, and radiology department; coordinating patient care and instructing all staff.
Participating in compilation of employee performance data; assisting with employee relations matters such as corrective and disciplinary actions.
Assisting the Practice Manager with interviewing prospective new employees and providing a comprehensive orientation.
Working with the Practice Manager to develop training and education for staff, using other sources as needed.
Ensuring smooth daily operations in nursing care unit, lab area, and radiology department; maintaining excellent public relations.
Conducting regular unit meetings to inform employees of directives, policies, procedures.
Hiring and selecting, and if necessary terminating employees under the supervision of the Practice Manager; evaluating staff performance and recommending/implementing disciplinary actions.
Administrative Support Functions
Assisting with the development of fee schedules.
Participating in budget process with the Practice Manager and managing control of expenses.
Assisting decision-making on vendors, purchasing supplies/equipment.
Reviewing charge posting and coding for accuracy.
Ensuring accurate capture of patient data for billing and fee collection.
Supervising daily deposits for accuracy and timeliness.
Working closely with Practice Manager on accounts payable processes.
Handling all mail and correspondence.
Identifying maintenance and repair matters for building and grounds.
Monitoring telephone system.
Ordering, tracking, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
Customer Service & Marketing
Collaborating with Director/Practice Manager on marketing and advertisements.
Responding immediately to patient concerns/complaints; ensuring friendly, effective patient treatment.
Following up to ensure timely resolution of customer service matters; seeking assistance from Director/Practice Manager as needed.
Keeping Director/Practice Manager apprised of issues that could disrupt service.
Working collaboratively with Director/Practice Manager to address physician issues.
Serving as communication resource, especially in Director/Practice Manager absence, providing information from BMG main office and operations.
Information Systems
Making changes in appointment scheduling template as necessary.
Assisting in development of plans for hardware and software needs.
Facilitating timely implementation of information system changes.
Other Functions
Apprising Practice Manager promptly of unusual situations requiring assistance.
Participating in continuous quality improvement by identifying opportunities and initiating actions.
Maintaining records, reports, files per established policies.
Completing other job‑related duties as directed.
Organizational Responsibilities
Attend and participate in department meetings and account for shared information.
Complete mandatory education, annual competencies, department‑specific education within timeframes.
Complete annual employee health requirements on time.
Maintain license/certification/registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
Direct patient care providers maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other required certifications.
Use appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
Adhere to regulatory agency requirements, survey process, compliance.
Comply with organization and department policies.
Be available for overtime and extra shifts when required.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
A minimum of three years related healthcare experience, and three years supervisory/management experience in a physician practice. Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing; advanced clinical or business education preferred. Proficiency with coding systems such as ICD‑9, CPT‑4 (HCPCS) required. Current Registered Nurse license in Michigan required.
Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of general medical office methods, practices, procedures, and medical record file systems.
Knowledge of third‑party reimbursement procedures, including Medicare/Medicaid and commercial carriers.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology; use of coding processes.
Computer skills (data entry, word processing, spreadsheets) and familiarity with EHR.
Strong leadership skills to gain cooperation of staff and physicians.
Organizational and analytical skills for problem analysis and timely resolution.
Interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, for diverse groups.
Interest in ongoing development of leadership skills and participation in management development activities.
