Summary
The Medical Assistant in Cardiology provides assistance in the examination and treatment of patients under Physician/Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner supervision in the ambulatory service clinical setting. Duties include chart review before patient clinical visit; assisting physician with procedures/treatments; equipment operation; assisting patients in preparation for examination/procedure; performing venipuncture; specimen collection and submission to appropriate laboratory; cleaning and sterilization of instrumentation; ordering and inventory supplies; records and documents in medical record; maintaining examination/procedure room supplies; assisting with efficient patient flow; assisting with orientation of new staff; and participating in quality assurance programs.

Hours
Day Shift, 40 hours per week – No nights or weekends.
Education & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or relevant experience leading to certification.
Completion of CMA certification with credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire.
Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network.
Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience.
Salary
Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. If the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion.
