Responsibilities
Provide prescribed respiratory care modalities and interventions for patients in the facility, including emergent and routine respiratory therapies.
Monitor patient response to therapy, adjust treatment under physician orders, and document results.
Operate and troubleshoot respiratory care equipment, including ventilators and related devices.
Assist with airway management and participate in patient rounds related to respiratory status.
Perform diagnostic procedures as appropriate and communicate findings to the care team.
Adhere to infection control practices, patient safety standards, and all applicable policies and procedures.
Requirements
Education: Associate degree in respiratory care or certificate of completion in respiratory care.
Experience: At least two (2) years of respiratory care experience in a general or acute hospital setting.
Licenses and certifications: Current valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license; current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential; current valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications from the American Heart Association.
Other: Ability to work in a surgery center environment; fingerprinting clearance prior to start; ability to meet orientation and scheduling requirements.
Additional notes: On-call responsibilities as assigned; 24-hour coverage rotation; must maintain all required licenses and certifications.
