Role Overview
Seeking an experienced
PMO Manager
to lead the successful delivery of complex
software development initiatives
within the
healthcare industry . This role blends
project management leadership, DevOps alignment, and operational strategy
to ensure projects are delivered
on time, on budget, and with high quality .
The PMO Manager will oversee a
team of 10+ project managers , manage key
client relationships , and drive
process optimization
across healthcare-focused software projects. This is a
client-facing, strategic leadership role
ideal for someone with deep experience in
healthcare IT environments
such as hospitals, health insurers, or pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of
10+ project managers , fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and professional development.
Align team performance with organizational and client goals.
Serve as a key point of contact for
client relationship management .
Project & Program Management
Oversee large-scale software development projects using
Waterfall and Agile methodologies .
Coordinate clear and consistent
status reporting
for internal leadership and external clients.
Proactively identify, track, and mitigate
project risks and issues .
Enforce
change management and governance policies
for both internal teams and clients.
Ensure projects comply with timelines, scope, budget, and regulatory expectations.
Process & Operational Excellence
Develop, maintain, and enforce standardized
project and system implementation processes .
Integrate project management practices with
DevOps concepts
to improve delivery performance.
Collaborate with
software development, QA, IT, and system managers
to align priorities and requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery and PMO operations.
Top 5 Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
in a relevant field.
PMP Certification (required) .
9+ years
of project management experience using
both Waterfall and Agile
methodologies.
7+ years
of experience in healthcare delivery, health insurance, managed care, or pharmacy benefit management.
Advanced knowledge of:
Project management methodologies and tools
Client relationship management
Risk and change management
IT industry practices and effort tracking
Additional Qualifications
Project Management Expertise
3+ years (preferably 6+) in senior or similar PMO leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of
PMBOK standards
and best practices.
Experience managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Pharmacy benefits management
Familiarity with healthcare projects for
state governments, hospitals, or insurance companies .
Technical & Tool Proficiency
Advanced proficiency with:
Microsoft Office products
Project scheduling tools (e.g.,
Microsoft Project )
Standard enterprise IT tools and systems
Leadership & Communication
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to train, mentor, and guide both technical and non-technical personnel.
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
