Position Summary
The Mobility Technician is responsible for assisting clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team, under the direct supervision of clinical staff within the inpatient setting. This position performs delegated activities that include patient mobility, functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, and a variety of basic clerical functions. The Mobility Technician provides safe judgment and delivers patient care per department guidelines to ensure patient safety and customer service.
Essential Functions
Works collaboratively with the department nursing staff and physicians, assisting in patient mobility based on identified needs.
Organizes materials and supplies prior to patient arrival, including cleaning/disinfecting and gathering equipment.
Assists with equipment storage and supply procurement, keeping hallways and room egress free of clutter.
Assists with responding to patient falls.
Models professional behaviors to improve patient satisfaction on unit-based measures.
Supports initiatives to prevent conditions such as pressure injuries, patient falls, and hospital-acquired infections by following infection control processes and hand hygiene audits.

Required Skills

Education / Certification
High school diploma or equivalent required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
