Position Summary
The Mobility Technician assists clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team under the direct supervision of clinical staff within an inpatient setting. Duties include patient mobility, functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, and a variety of basic clerical functions. The role requires safe judgment and delivering exceptional patient care per department guidelines to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
Essential Functions
Works collaboratively with department nursing staff and physicians to provide assistance to patients, identified needs, and patient mobility.
Organizes materials and supplies in the appropriate work areas prior to patient arrival, including cleaning/disinfecting and gathering equipment.
Assists with equipment storage and supply procurement, keeping hallways and room egress free of clutter.
Assists with responding to patient falls.
Models behaviors and skills, through peer‑to‑peer accountability, toward improving department patient‑satisfaction scores.
Supports initiatives to prevent pressure injuries, patient falls, and hospital‑acquired infections by following infection‑control processes and conducting hand‑hygiene audits.
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned; this description is not exhaustive.

Required Skills

Education / Certification
High school diploma or equivalent required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
