Mental Health Clinician - Mobile Crisis Response PRN

Position Summary
The Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Mental Health Clinician provides rehabilitation services and support to children and families to decrease hospitalization and crisis episodes while increasing community functioning. Duties include answering crisis calls, responding to mental health crises in McHenry County, and driving to the crisis location within 90 minutes of receiving the call. Services include stabilization, linkage services, and consultations with the client’s family.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling and Guidance, Rehabilitation Counseling, Vocational Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, or Family Therapy, or a related field; Master’s preferred.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements.

Own transportation.

Experience in mental health treatment.

Ability to conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions.

Provide case management, treatment planning, and discharge planning for clients.

Essential Responsibilities

Motivate and problem‑solve with staff regarding effective clinical practices.

Self‑motivate and seek performance improvement while meeting the complex needs of clients and families.

Adapt verbal and written communication to the language and style of the client and their family.

Complete all necessary documentation within appropriate timelines.

Undergo primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.

Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients, families, and staff.

Maintain communication with all staff (e.g., admissions, process, and discharge plans).

Coordinate services from a variety of community resources.

Utilize evidence‑based practices and treatment modalities.

Present workshops, lectures, and training to clients, families, staff, and community groups as needed.

Be familiar with court proceedings and be available for court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.

Serve as a member of the Clinical Team and participate in all team meetings.

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the professional Code of Conduct and the law.

Deliver exceptional customer service to every client.

Represent the agency with positive guest relations.

Schedule

Hours: PRN.

Shift: PRN. Pre‑scheduled on‑call shifts occasionally on weekends and overnights with additional compensation.

Work Location
Rosecrance. Crystal Lake, Illinois. In‑person work mode.

Compensation And Rewards

Starting Pay: based on education, experience, and credentials.

Starting rate for Bachelor’s degree holders: $27.37 per hour.

Starting rate for Master’s degree holders: $30.54 per hour.

Shift Differentials: second shift +$1 per hour; third shift +$2 per hour.

Incentives

On‑call hours.

Holiday pay.

Incentive bonuses available:

$200 per quarter for staff completing more than 30 pre‑hospitalization screens per quarter.

$1,000 retention bonus paid every 6 months (prorated first payment based on full months of employment).

Additional pay enhancements:

Professional certification (e.g., CADC, CRSS, or CPS): +$0.72 per hour (equivalent to +$1,500 annualized).

First‑level clinical licensure (e.g., LPC/LSW/LMSW): +$0.87 per hour.

Second‑level clinical licensure (e.g., LCPC/LCSW/LMHC): starting at +$2.16 per hour.
