Summary
M Mitsubishi Power in Savannah, GA is seeking experienced TIG Welders skilled in various welding techniques and stress relief processes. Ideal candidates will be proficient in Shielded Metal Arc (SMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW/TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and Plasma Arc Welding (PAW), and capable of operating metal fabrication equipment such as oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting torches, PWHT systems, and vacuum furnaces with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Set up components and perform basic digital programming on welding equipment.

Interpret drawings and work instructions to prepare and assemble parts using cutting and abrasive tools.

Accurately locate and measure surfaces per specifications and perform detailed inspections.

Learn and demonstrate welding techniques using SMAW, TIG, PAW, MIG, and Laser; train others as needed.

Apply and understand penetrant inspection methods (e.g., red-dye, fluorescent).

Control and correct distortion and heat input during welding processes.

Contour welds to meet complex, close-tolerance configurations using appropriate tools.

Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives in production processes.

Operate furnaces and stress relief equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.

Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Ability to pass background check and drug screening per company policy.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of TIG/GTAW welding experience.

Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent in Welding from a technical school or two years of relevant experience/training.

Strong desire to grow in a long-term career in rotor assembly.

Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings.

Proficient in basic math, including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.

Ability to interpret bar graphs and technical drawings.

High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Proficiency in both SAE and Metric measurement systems.

Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions and solve basic problems.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and use hands/arms.

Must frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise; hearing protection may be required.
