Summary
The Machinist 3 sets up and operates CNC machines to fabricate space and defense parts per engineering specifications and customer supplied drawings. The Machinist 3 sets up jobs and completes tasks with little to no supervision, and maintains machine shop cleanliness and organization. Reports to the Machine Shop Manager.

What You Will Do
Sets up and operates CNC machines as directed
Performs various machining and shop duties, which may include loading and unloading raw materials/parts into CNC machine or waterjet machine, deburring parts, inspecting in-process parts, assisting with packaging of finished parts, monitoring shop supplies
Ensures that machined parts meet customer specifications, drawings and STP files
Demonstrates ability to run and dimensionally maintain quality in a production environment
Utilizes blueprint reading skills, shop inspection skills and related inspection tools
Properly utilizes measuring tools and setup tools
Maintains equipment, shop cleanliness, and tooling inventory
Maintains clean machining area, free from scrap/debris
What We Are Looking For
Required Education: High School Diploma
Required Experience: Typically possesses 5-10 years of experience, with demonstrated ability to effectively set up and operate CNC machines, shop related tools and equipment
Preferred experience: Proficiency with lathe setup and operation (Mazak Integrex, Fanuc controls a plus)
Versatility and experience across multiple machine centers
Strong work ethic, communication skills and attention to detail
General mechanical aptitude, dexterity and ability to effectively operate shop tools and equipment, proficiency with measuring tools and setup tools
Understands G&M code, reads blueprints, troubleshoots production issues, conducts inspections
Physical requirements of this position include: Standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the work day, occasional use of stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds
