Job Summary
Serving as a critical member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant (MA) renders clinical care under the direction of physicians, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants. Primary duties include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting information in the electronic medical record (EHR), administering medications, assisting with procedures and treatments, providing patient education, stocking exam rooms, and verifying that lab, X‑ray or procedure reports are available for the provider. The MA also accurately performs required computer functions such as medication reconciliation, coding of medical and laboratory procedures, order entry, and scheduling of appointments. MA is cross‑trained to work front office for check‑in and check‑out.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Medical assisting diploma from a nationally recognized accredited program
Must obtain an MA certification within 6 months of hire from a nationally recognized accredited certifying organization: CMA (AAMA), NCMA (NCCT), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), or CMAC (AMCA)
Schedule & Compensation
Status: Part time
Hours per week: 0
Schedule: PRN, 12‑hour shifts as needed for weekends.
Pay range: $24.10 - $36.15 per hour.
