The Pharmacist is responsible for supporting pharmacy management goals and objectives within a dispensing pharmacy. This role involves providing routine and emergency comprehensive drug screening, information processing, and dispensing services for various drug distribution systems. Management skills and accuracy are essential to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of appropriate drug products to customers.
Responsibilities
Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy, ensuring adherence to workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations and assist in adherence to DEA policies.
Supervise the pharmacy production staff to maintain proper order entry, workflow, and security.
Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders, ensuring correct drug packaging and labeling.
Prepare and/or supervise all sterile IV drug products or solutions.
Assist in the proper ordering, handling, receiving, documentation, and storage of controlled substances, maintaining a perpetual inventory for schedule II drugs.
Provide coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of the on-call rotation.
Clear the workflow dashboard daily.
Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.
Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
Pharmacy License in the State of GA.
Attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
This is a closed‑door pharmacy setting, not directly involving patient interaction. The position offers a flexible schedule with alternating weekends. Initial training will likely be from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, followed by a rotating schedule of day shifts (7:00 am to 3:30 pm) and night shifts (3:00 pm to closing around 11:30 pm to midnight), including every other weekend (8 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday). There may be occasional shifts from 12 noon to 8:30 pm. Work is conducted with up to one other Pharmacist and up to seven Pharmacy Technicians, with a focus on directing and managing the workload of the pharmacy technicians. The role involves using standard office and pharmacy equipment. Physical demands include sitting or standing for seven to ten hours per day, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and working extended hours as needed.
