Salary and Payment Terms
Salary Range: $110,000–$130,000 per year. Commissioned, non‑exempt position.
Signing bonus for licensed plumbers: $5,000 payable in three installments—first after training, second after 6 months of service, third after 1 year of service.
Responsibilities
Respond promptly to customer service calls, conduct thorough inspections of plumbing issues, accurately diagnose problems, offer effective solutions and estimates, and successfully close service sales.
With the necessary licensing, install and repair various plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and water softeners.
Perform sewer and drain cleaning services in diverse environments such as basements, roofs, confined spaces, and close quarters, ensuring thorough cleaning and restoration of work sites to pre‑job conditions.
Prepare invoices, totaling costs of services/products provided; collect payment and explain the Roto‑Rooter guarantee both in writing and on the provided smartphone.
Collect payment and move on to the next service call.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license.
State plumbing license preferred.
Three or more years of repair and service plumbing experience required; proven track record in the sale of plumbing products and services required.
Full knowledge of plumbing systems essential for performing duties.
Plumbers are expected to gain Excavation Certification through Competent Person Training (OSHA requirement) within the first year of employment; journeyman license or equivalent certification as specified by the state in which the branch operates and performs service.
Good written and oral communication skills for effective customer service; excellent interpersonal skills in client and coworker relations.
