The Veterinary Assistant and Customer Service Representative are critical roles at supporting the daily operation of a hospital. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care. We are looking to add a flexible team member who would work both at our front desk and with appointments as an assistant, either part-time or full-time.

Job Description Overview
Veterinary Assistant

Assist with patient care and treatment

Monitor hospitalized pets and aid in caring for animals after surgery

Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims

Aiding with routine diagnostic tests (i.e. Taking radiographs, running bloodwork, etc.)

Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments/equipment

Clean/disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas of hospital

Administer medications under Veterinarian/Vet Tech supervision

Answer phones, schedule appointments, and greet clients

Customer Service Representative

Greet clients and provide a welcoming, warm client experience

Communicate with clients via phone, text and email in an empathetic manner

Maintain accurate patient records and manage paperwork and forms

Collaborate with other team members and departments effectively to provide quality client and patient care

Promptly room patients after they have checked in

Follow up on missed appointments, overdue services, and client reminders

Resolve client concerns or complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when appropriate

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must be a self-starter, able to multitask and a team player with a positive attitude

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Experience working with cats and dogs in a medical setting

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs.). Should be able to lift 40 lbs. on own.

Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and handle stressful situations gracefully

Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position.

Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members

Compensation
Hourly wage $17 - $24 DOE. Eligible for periodic bonuses.
