Our Blood Institute is actively seeking qualified candidates for a rewarding position to provide a safe and pleasant blood donation experience for donors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; college courses are a plus.
No prior experience required; world‑class paid on‑the‑job training provided.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
Perform registration, vitals, medical screening, phlebotomy, heat sealing duties and record keeping associated with whole‑blood, autologous, directed, therapeutic, testing services, research projects, etc.
Strictly adhere to all standard operating procedures ensuring all blood products are collected within quality standards set by regulatory agencies including the FDA.
Assist supervisor in verifying and completing daily paperwork.
Alert the supervisor of any problems or concerns when issues arise related to equipment, venipuncture, donor questions/issues or equipment performance.
Continually assess donor needs throughout the donation process, including evaluating and treating donor reactions.
Educate donors on blood fact information such as donation frequency, need for blood products, etc.
All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Work Schedule
Varied based on blood drive timing. Must be available for early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. Flexible schedule required.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive pay based on experience; additional pay for technical school certification, associate or bachelor's degree, fluency in Spanish. $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year. WORLD CLASS PAID on‑the‑job training. Health, dental, vision, life insurance, long‑term disability, 401(k), paid time off, $5,000 annual tuition reimbursement, annual uniform allowance.
Requirements
Reliable transportation and working telephone.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs regularly.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Professional, detail‑oriented, punctual, reliable.
