Better Morning emerged as an outpatient behavioral health practice in Ashburn, VA in 2014. In addition to providing counseling from the Ashburn office, the organization was certified as a provider for intensive in‑home and community‑based services (IHCBS) for at‑risk youth in the District of Columbia. In August 2017, Better Morning was certified as a Core Service Agency (CSA) by the DC Department of Behavioral Health. The founder’s passion for at‑risk youth and families has driven ongoing program expansion to meet the needs of underserved populations.
Job Description
Position Summary: Better Morning has immediate openings for full‑time CBI II and CBI III roles in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical services in accordance with Better Morning policies and procedures.
Maintain a caseload of CBI cases and engage clients five times a week.
Offer services to youth and families in a culturally competent, respectful manner.
Provide individual and family counseling.
Initiate CBI services within 24 hours of receiving referral notifications.
Hold Family Team Meetings within 7–14 days of referral.
Develop safety plans with input from youth, families, and all stakeholders.
Educate families about CBI services and the role of CBI clinicians and the CBI team.
Explain the benefits of team‑based work with families.
Maintain 24‑hour availability for youth and families.
Explain in detail how 24/7 crisis calls are handled and the role of the CBI team.
Provide CBI services in homes, schools, and community settings.
Ensure the intensity of service meets the needs of youth and families.
Participate in required CBI training curricula.
Remain flexible to schedule sessions around youth and family availability.
Complete MUI reports in case of unusual incidents.
Facilitate discharge team meetings with all stakeholders.
Participate in individual and group supervision as scheduled.
Complete Relias and other required annual trainings.
Assist in implementing program initiatives as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree (Required).
Experience: Child & family counseling – 1 year (Preferred); CBI services – 1 year (Preferred).
License/Certification: LGSW/LGPC/QMHP license (Required).
Additional Information
Compensation:
Full‑time (1099) – 40 hours per week. 8‑hour shifts at an hourly rate of $60. In‑person service in the community, home, and school settings.
Schedule:
8‑hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
