Lab Assistant

Overview
Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and established standards. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Perform sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in compliance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulatory and established standards. Perform venipunctures where applicable and collect blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assist technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
Qualifications
Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Work Experience: No experience required. Preferred: 1 year as a phlebotomist, experience performing EKGs, experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting.
Licenses and Certifications: None required. Preferred: CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency.
