
Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant (MA) works alongside the clinical team of providers, nurses, nuclear medicine, and patient access services to care for oncology patients. The MA performs daily skills per clinic standards, interacts with patients during appointments, and documents within our EMR.
Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Work as a team to maintain exceptional patient experience.
Prepare patients for provider and treatment appointments, virtually and in person.
Measure and record vital signs, perform EKG’s, and draw basic labs.
Prepare and clean treatment rooms.
Coordinate referral appointments and communicate with outside provider offices.
Document in an accurate and timely manner.
Assist with quality improvement measures.
Regularly and effectively communicate with care team regarding patient care and tasks, both verbally and through EMR.
Protect patient’s rights by maintaining confidentiality of information per HIPAA guidelines.
Follow safety standards as defined by OSHA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Medical Assistant Registration or Certification required
Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program preferred
EMR experience preferred
Experience drawing labs preferred
Employment Status: Full time (1.0 FTE)
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40
Hours of work: Hours vary from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (8hr shifts)
Days worked: Monday to Friday
