About the Role
The Company is in search of an Assistant Vice President for Planning, Design, and Construction. The successful candidate will be a high-character, forward-thinking leader with a deep sense of urgency and the ability to manage large-scale construction projects. This role is pivotal in providing strategic leadership and executive oversight for the Planning, Design, and Construction department, ensuring that all activities align with institutional priorities and long-range campus development goals. The AVP will be responsible for the full lifecycle of capital and minor construction projects, from planning to delivery, and must be adept at stewarding financial and operational resources.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years' of leadership experience, or a High School Diploma with 14 years' of leadership experience in lieu of a degree. Professional credentials such as PE, RA, PMP, CCM, or LEED AP are strongly preferred. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in strategic planning, design management, and construction delivery, as well as advanced knowledge of procurement processes. The AVP will also be tasked with leading a high-performing team, driving a culture of accountability and urgency, and maintaining high-level partnerships across the institution. Experience in emergency response, business continuity planning, and exceptional communication skills are essential for this position.
