About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President, Business Development to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing new lending relationships within the non-bank lending ecosystem, with a specific focus on factoring companies, asset-based lenders, and specialty commercial finance platforms. This senior, production-oriented role demands a proactive approach to driving new business volume and expanding market presence in the Northeast. Key responsibilities include sourcing and originating new lending opportunities, building and maintaining a robust pipeline, and managing relationships with various market participants. The role also involves deal structuring, execution, and meeting individual production targets.
Applicants for this role should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in ABL, factoring, or lender finance business development, with a strong preference for those with a demonstrated track record in sourcing and closing transactions. Technical skills required include a strong understanding of credit, collateral structures, and loan products, as well as the ability to assess financial statements and transaction risk. An existing network within the relevant financial sectors and established industry referral relationships are highly valued. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. The role is not suited for those seeking underwriting or portfolio management positions, and success will be measured by the candidate's ability to generate new business and close transactions.
