Clinical Setting & Scope

The provider will act as the specialist consultant for a high-acuity 32-bed ICU environment (SICU, MICU, CVCU, CCU).

• Role: Consultative services for ICU patients. Hospitalists serve as the attending/admitting physicians.
• Key Responsibilities: Bedside procedures, ventilator management, and specialized pulmonary/critical care consults.
• Daily Volume: Average of patients per shift.
• Support: Nurse Practitioners assist with weekday rounding and clinical duties.

Call Expectations

• Weekend (Fri Sun): 24-Hour Call.
• Weekday: Night Call begins at 5:00 PM.
• Volume: Average 5 7 admissions and 2 3 phone consults per call shift.

Provider Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Alabama (AL) Medical License.
• Background: Internal Medicine base with Pulmonary/Critical Care expertise.
• Availability: Must be available for the full May block.

Credentialing & Timeline

• Window: 45 Days.
• Urgency: Immediate. With only 37 days remaining until the start date, the facility will likely require a provider with a clean file and an existing AL license to expedite the 45-day window.
