The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to street homeless and subway-dwelling individuals in the community.
Responsibilities
The multi-disciplinary team includes a leader, clinicians, care managers, and a peer specialist, utilizing the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model.
The role involves street outreach, coordinating needs before and after housing, improving daily living skills, offering supportive counseling, and advocating for clients facing discrimination or healthcare barriers.
Focus on member choice, harm reduction, non-coercion, flexibility, and person-centered approaches is essential.
Post-housing support continues for several months to promote stability and independence.
The position requires fieldwork, on-call hours, and flexible scheduling, with travel across three counties.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology, with licensure or plans to obtain it. This full-time role offers competitive pay and benefits, and requires relocation to Norwich, NY before starting.
