Overview
A licensed mental health professional will join an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to street homeless or subway‑dwelling individuals in the community.
Responsibilities
Work in a multi-disciplinary team that includes a Team Leader, Licensed Clinicians, Care Managers, and Peer Specialists, using the evidence‑based Critical Time Intervention model.
Participate in street outreach, coordinate needs before and after housing, improve daily living skills, offer supportive counseling, and advocate against discrimination and healthcare inequities.
Focus on member choice, harm reduction, non‑coercion, flexibility, and person‑centered care.
Follow participants for months after housing to ensure stability and wellbeing.
Field work with periodic on‑call hours and flexible scheduling; travel across three counties is required.
Qualifications
A licensed master’s in social work, mental health counseling, nursing, or psychology is required. MSW candidates are considered if they are planning licensure and have experience with homeless populations.
Benefits
This full‑time role offers health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off and more, with a pay rate of $32‑$34 per hour. Relocation to Norwich, NY is required before starting.
