Work Schedule: Evening shift, 24 hrs/wk., 3 days per week, 12:30 pm–9 pm, every 3rd weekend, on call and holidays.

Job description: Collect and preserve blood samples and other body fluids for analysis.

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily phlebotomy workload, including basic dermal and venipuncture collection.

Comply with PPE and safety guidelines and documented turn‑around time expectations.

Respond professionally to patient and laboratory requests for flexibility in duties, schedules, and staffing.

Document orientation, training, and education to ensure employee competence and meet accreditation requirements.

Maintain 100 % completion of organizational and departmental competencies.

Review and understand new procedure and procedure revisions.

Answer telephones, take messages, and forward information or calls to appropriate staff.

Identify problems and initiate immediate follow‑up with phlebotomy leadership or designee to ensure accurate, timely laboratory services.

Act on phone calls promptly and professionally, following customer‑service protocols.

Participate in continuing education; meet required annual continuing‑education hours.

Schedule
Evening shift, 24 hrs/wk., 3 days per week, 12:30 pm–9 pm, every 3rd weekend, on call and holidays.

Requirements
Education

High‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred). High‑school diploma or equivalent required for CAP surveyors only.

Participate in mandatory in‑services and continuing education programs as required by policies, accrediting agencies, and leadership.

Experience

Six months of phlebotomy experience qualifying for American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification, or approved equivalent certification, preferred.

OR

Completion of an ASCP‑approved phlebotomy training course or equivalent, or experience as LPN, RN, or MA with experience in routine venipuncture and routine dermal puncture.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Strong attention to detail.

Willingness to adjust schedule/shift and pick up open shifts to meet patient needs.
