Job Description
Phlebotomy Supervisor – Plano, TX (Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). Oversee functions of Patient Services, including Mobile Phlebotomy, In‑Office Phlebotomy, and Patient Service Centers. Responsible for all activities of the function, including training of personnel, daily operations, staffing of PSCs, and ensuring a safe, professional environment.
Pay Range
$60,500+ per year. Salary is based on skills, experience, education, and certifications. Eligible for annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities
Responsible for daily operations of all assigned facilities, PSCs, mobile and in‑office phlebotomy
Implement SOPs for phlebotomy services in accordance with Quest Diagnostics guidelines
Ensure all federal, state, and local licensure requirements are met, working with QA and Medical Director’s offices
Ensure all Laboratory testing QA/QC documentation is complete and reviewed as required
Oversee safety, maintenance, and cleanliness of facilities (including upgrades, repairs, etc.)
Perform site visits at all assigned PSCs, IOPs, and mobile phlebotomy sites, document findings, and conduct QA audits
Relocate, open, or close PSCs, IOPs, and RRLs
Oversee inventory process for supervised facilities
Participate in the interview, selection, and hiring of new employees
Train, coach, supervise, and develop staff
Monitor ongoing performance of employees; provide corrective action and counseling as required; perform mid‑year and annual performance appraisals
Hold regularly scheduled meetings to disseminate information to staff
Ensure all employees meet requirements for driving on company business
Track and enter time and attendance of employees
Prepare schedules with minimal overtime and maintain adequate coverage for all facilities
Prepare month‑end reports
Perform training and onboarding of new clients, where required
Investigate, resolve, and respond to customer complaints effectively
Ensure Quest improvement and/or standardization initiatives are implemented
Assist in preparation and control of annual budget for areas of responsibility; implement cost containment programs, manage overtime, and participate in standardization initiatives and capital expenditure planning
Participate on process improvement teams or other initiatives to meet management objectives
Organize and lead projects within the workgroup and with cross‑functional groups; may be required to give presentations and speak in groups
Demonstrate and embody the values of Quest Diagnostics
Perform all other duties as assigned within scope of the position
Qualifications
Required Work Experience
Minimum two years of supervisory or leadership experience
Minimum five years of experience in phlebotomy, laboratory, or other healthcare environments
Preferred Work Experience
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment
Physical and Mental Requirements
Extensive use of phone and PC
Prolonged standing and sitting
Fine dexterity with hands and steadiness
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 40 pounds; carry up to 15 pounds for several minutes
Talking, vision requiring constant mental visual attention to details, walking, balancing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting
Knowledge
Effective communication in English
Skills
Flexible and available based on staffing requirements; weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Good organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage concerns of patients and employees professionally
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting
Proficient PC skills, including MS Office applications
Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise consistent, independent, sound judgment
Ability to manage individuals in multiple geographies or locations
Position requires travel
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field
Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Languages
English (required)
Licenses and Certifications
Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states such as California, Nevada, Washington, and Louisiana)
