Ethics and Dragons Internship/Co-op

Role Overview
The Cincinnati Ethics Center is hiring undergraduate student workers to serve as interns for our Ethics and Dragons programming. The program runs 11 weeks from May 18 to August 16, 2026, at multiple library branches in Cincinnati & Hamilton County.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in the development and execution of Dungeons & Dragons & Ethics related programming.

Execute Ethics and Dragons engagement programs and services.

Serve as a mentor/model player or Dungeon Master to teens and tweens during Dungeons & Dragons sessions.

Model appropriate social behaviors and encourage concern for others to cultivate interpersonal relationships and communication skills.

Develop appropriate boundaries and rules to create a safe environment for children.

Assist in design and development of diverse pre‑made character sheets for use during programming.

Attend and offer feedback on programming during weekly Ethics and Dragons planning meetings.

Other duties may be assigned based on necessity and interest.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience playing Dungeons & Dragons or other tabletop role‑playing games, board games with complex rule systems, or deck‑building games (e.g., Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Hearthstone). Please specify experience in your cover letter.

Reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.

Time Requirements
Must be available for at least two of the following libraries per week this summer:

Clifton: Mondays, 4:30-7:30pm

Deer Park: Mondays, 2:00-5:00pm

Westwood: Tuesdays, 11:30-2:30pm

Monfort Heights: Tuesdays, 4:00-7:00pm

West End: Wednesdays, 4:30-7:30pm

Anderson: Wednesdays, 4:30-7:30pm

Reading: Thursdays, 3:00-6:00pm

Groesbeck: Thursdays, 1:30-4:30pm

Estimated Pay
$13/hr

Reporting
Interns will report to Erin Barta, Program Coordinator for Educational Programs at the Cincinnati Ethics Center.

Term
Positions begin in Summer 2026, with possibility of renewal for later semesters.

Eligibility

Open to all undergraduate students enrolled at UC this fall; all majors welcome.

Diverse academic backgrounds and skill sets encouraged.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.

Enrolled at a post‑secondary institution or secondary school.

Enrolled at least part‑time (one or more credit hours if at a post‑secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.

Must be at least 16 years of age.
