
Measurement Tech

This position ensures Oxy's oil and gas sales volumes are accurately measured in accordance with company and industry standards. The role is responsible for maintaining and calibrating Oxy‑owned metering equipment, witnessing third‑party measurement activities, and conducting internal measurement audits for all custody sales records. It also performs quality assurance and control of all oil, water, and gas measurement activities and collaborates with Operations personnel to ensure compliance with Oxy Measurement Standards and applicable BLM, COGCC, API, MPMS, and AGA guidelines.
Responsibilities
Support Measurement Manager and Measurement Leads in implementing vision
Schedule and complete preventive maintenance for measurement activities (oil and/or gas)
Ensure compliance with the Oxy Measurement Standards, regulatory requirements, API and AGA guidelines
Communicate with Measurement Leader, Operations, Regulatory and Production Accounting on issues or errors in reporting
Collect data, identify, and resolve measurement errors that could result in loss of volume or revenue due to human or mechanical failures
Provide measurement support for non‑custody transfer metering such as well test, operational metering, validation (check) measurement, and allocation measurement
Troubleshoot custody and non‑custody meters
Schedule allocation and LACT meter proving witnessing along with sample pot witnessing
Document ORCM internal measurement audit records
Support automation in the installation and commissioning of new equipment
Properly use and care of company tools including hand tools and calibration/test equipment
Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety and environmental stewardship
Qualifications
3–5 years of measurement experience
Basic knowledge of various meters used to measure the flow of natural gas and crude oil products
Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in the use of computers and working knowledge of Word, Excel, and preferably Outlook
Ability to work well in both team and individual environments
Self‑driven attitude
Salary range: $42–$57 per hour.
