
CNC Machine Operator - Swing Shift

Overview
As a CNC Machine Operator, you will operate and support CNC fiber laser and CNC press brake equipment to produce precision cut and formed sheet metal parts. This is a hands-on role focused on machine setup, operation, inspection, and material handling. You will work closely with team leads, supervisors, and department managers to ensure jobs are completed accurately, efficiently, and to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CNC fiber lasers and CNC press brakes
Load material and unload finished parts from machines
Verify correct programs, tooling, and material prior to running jobs
Perform machine startup, shutdown, and routine daily maintenance
Install and set up punches, dies, and job tooling as required
Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings for proper laser and brake setup
Measure parts using gauges and inspection tools to verify angles, dimensions, and overall accuracy meet customer specifications
Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to meet daily production goals and communicate issues or quality concerns as they arise
Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with LEAN and 5S principles
Assist with inventory of tooling such as punches and dies
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Basic knowledge of CNC systems and machine controls
Ability to read production drawings and flat patterns
Ability to use measuring devices and basic hand tools
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures
Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating CNC fiber lasers or CNC press brakes
Experience with Amada equipment
Forklift experience
Prior work in a sheet metal or fabrication environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts
Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment
Work Environment
Manufacturing and production floor environment
Work performed around CNC lasers, press brakes, and material handling equipment
Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and metal materials
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Schedule
Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:00am
