Junior Fashion Design Assistant | Auteur Studios

Auteur Studios is seeking a junior-level Fashion Design Assistant based in New York to support the Creative Director across design, product development, and visual execution. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is technically strong, visually refined, and deeply interested in contemporary fashion. You will work closely with the Creative Director across all stages of the collection process, from concept and sketching through fittings, photoshoots, and digital presentation.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development

- Assist with hand and digital sketching.

- Create and update CADs and technical drawings.

- Development and revision of tech packs.

- Organize seasonal design files and product documentation.

- Assist during fittings, including measurements, notes, and follow-ups.

- Track samples and development changes.

Photoshoot and Visual Support

- Assist with photoshoot preparation, including look lists, garment prep, and on-set support.

- Ensure garments are prepared to brand standards for shoots.

- Support post-shoot organization of design assets.

Social and Digital Layouts

- Assist with social media layouts and visual formatting.

- Support mood boards and internal creative presentations.

Requirements

- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

- Fashion CAD experience is essential.

- Understanding of garment construction and fit.

- Strong visual sensibility and attention to detail.

- Organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

- Prior internship or junior studio experience is preferred but not necessary.

Details

- Part-time position (20 to 30 hours per week).

- $30 per hour.

- Hybrid role with availability for in-person fittings and shoots in New York.
