Job Summary
The
Precision Quality Inspector
plays a critical role in ensuring product and process compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards. This position is responsible for CMM operation and mechanical quality inspection, developing and maintaining accurate quality documentation, and supporting manufacturing operations to ensure the delivery of conforming products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fundamental mechanical and mathematical inspection knowledge
Operation of CMM and interpretation of CMM results
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, applying GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent) to inspection and production planning
Familiar with the use of all inspection hand gauging including but not limited to, micrometers, thread gauges, dial indicators, calipers, height gauges, etc
Ensure proper operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions
Robust knowledge of GD&T, blueprint, and spec interpretation
Work and adhere to quality management systems and requirements (i.e., training, policies, procedures, document control)
Assists Engineering and Manufacturing in the investigation of non-conformities
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following guidelines and procedures and complying with all applicable regulations
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T standards
Experience with inspection equipment such as - Mics, Calipers, Opticals, and Micro heights
Extensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs, and error replication
Strong understanding of GD&T application in manufacturing and inspection processes
Technical writing and documentation accuracy
Organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage time effectively and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education & Experience
3-5 years
of experience in CMM operation, mechanical inspection, manufacturing, or GD&T application required
Aerospace experience OR AS9100
High School Diploma or GED required; technical certifications preferred
GD&T certification is highly desirable
Physical & Work Environment
Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels
Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately in noisy environments
Must also have close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus and judge depth. Color vision is required as well
Must be able to read, write, and speak English

COMPENSATION:
$28-$33/hr (final compensation will be determined based on experience).
