Job Duties
Underwrite and originate complex structured loans to commercial real estate-focused high net‑worth clients.
Assess, monitor, and document the credit and business risks incurred across loan transactions within the existing portfolio of deals.
Conduct routine, thorough analysis of the borrower’s financial condition, evaluate collateral securing the loan, identify risks and mitigants, and proactively make recommendations to senior leadership to address looming challenges.
Work on originating and managing a portfolio of structured underwritten loans secured by private equity/hedge funds, aircraft, fine art, hobby properties, private company stock, yachts, and marketable securities.
Ensure underwriting standards approved by the bank are adhered to in the loan approval process, with exceptions appropriately mitigated and documented.
Participate in business‑related initiatives such as new product development and systems/operational enhancements.
Job Requirements
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related field, plus 1 year of experience (Master’s) or 3 years of experience (Bachelor’s) in the offered or related role.
Prior employment must include:
One year of private bank lending experience (Master’s) or three years (Bachelor’s) with demonstrated proficiency in analyzing complex borrower and guarantor structures and financial reporting.
Strong financial accounting principles and valuation/modeling skills using Microsoft Excel.
Understanding of regulatory frameworks and controls governing banking industry and lending business.
Commercial real‑estate underwriting principles, including collateral evaluation and market research.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with senior business leadership, clients, and stakeholders.
