Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all facility systems within a fast‑paced supply chain and packaging operation. This role oversees maintenance activities across material handling equipment (MHE), conveyance systems, facility infrastructure, and food packaging equipment including VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal) and related automated packaging systems. The Maintenance Manager will lead all preventative maintenance programs, unplanned repairs, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and drive operational performance. This role partners closely with Operations Leadership to ensure equipment reliability supports throughput, quality, and service goals in a food‑grade environment. Additionally, this position will manage vendor relationships, oversee maintenance‑related projects, and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards including OSHA, lockout/tagout, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical knowledge of packaging equipment, and the ability to build processes, develop teams, and drive results in a high‑volume logistics and food packaging environment.
Location, Schedule, Travel, Compensation, & Sponsorship
Location: On‑site, Kennesaw, GA
Schedule: 1st Shift with flexibility to support off‑shift and weekend needs based on business demands
Travel: Less than 10% domestic travel
Compensation: $92,000–$125,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and education. Includes comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective repairs and minimal operational downtime
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and support staff
Manage and execute preventative maintenance programs across MHE, conveyors, and packaging equipment including VFFS systems
Troubleshoot and coordinate repairs for automated packaging lines and facility systems
Partner with Operations to align maintenance priorities with throughput, quality, and production goals
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, GMP standards, and company safety policies
Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, and external maintenance support
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service schedules, and equipment history within CMMS
Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components for packaging and facility equipment
Support capital projects, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence
Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and repairs as needed
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within a high‑volume logistics, co‑packing, or food packaging environment
Hands‑on experience with automated packaging equipment including VFFS (Vertical Form Fill Seal), case packing, and conveyance systems
Experience supporting material handling equipment (MHE) including conveyors, forklifts, and related systems
Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing maintenance teams
Strong experience in fast‑paced distribution, fulfillment, or packaging operations
Skilled in electrical troubleshooting and repair across 24VDC to 480VAC, 3‑phase systems
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
Experience using CMMS systems to track maintenance activities and equipment history
Proficient with power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic/testing equipment
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to work safely while maintaining a high level of accountability and teamwork
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet and operate lifts or elevated work platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food‑grade or GMP‑regulated environments
Certifications in electrical or industrial maintenance disciplines
Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Experience with conveyance systems, automated packaging lines, and vendor management
Strong knowledge of OSHA compliance, lockout/tagout procedures, and safety programs
