
Quality Control Auditor

Responsibilities
Inspecting Finished trailers using Carry‑on Trailer methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions, and examining functionality
Checking that the assembly or production line adheres to standards and procedures and complies with customer requirements
Reviewing blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
Recording inspection results by completing reports, summarizing re‑works and wastes and inputting data into quality database
Advising the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
Proposing improvements to the production process
Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by verifying all equipment is calibrated correctly, following calibration requirements and calling for repairs
Using gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products
Collecting and compiling statistical quality data
Auditing test methods and inspection plans
Determining the causes of product defects and reworks
Major Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned
Follow all OSHA and plant safety rules including lock‑out tag‑out, etc.
Assist in Quality activities necessary to sustain the highest levels of products possible
Able to read and interpret drawings
Able to perform basic Math
Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify product/component compliance
Record inspection results on Inspection Data Sheets
Reject defective parts, label and segregate as necessary
Perform duties in accordance with applicable OP and WI instructions
Able to meet quality and productivity standards as defined by the Carry‑on Trailer
Work with Engineering and management to resolve problems
Effectively communicate issues verbally and in written documentation to all concerned
Perform product & process audits
Help define and sustain proper 5S standards in required areas
Teach & Coach operators to proper Quality standards
Facilitate the effective hand‑off of Quality issues to your incoming shift peer, ensuring effective communication of all issues and corrective actions
Inspect products in receiving, welding, paint, and assembly processes
Assist Quality Management in any other requested activities
Work Conditions
Performing the duties of this Job, Employee will be required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel reach with hands and arms. Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel. Occasionally required to sit, climb up and down ladders, and balance.
Work Environment
Vision abilities required include color vision and ability to adjust focus
Qualifications
Education Required
Minimum high school diploma is required
Formal Training or equivalent experience in GD&T is a plus
Experience working with measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, CMM, etc.
Ability to work alone without constant supervision
Leadership skills a major plus
Work Experience
1~2+ years of Quality experience working with a Quality Management System within a repetitive manufacturing environment
Experience troubleshooting issues
Experience with Root cause analysis and continuous Improvement
Experience in Leadership
Skills & Knowledge Required
Must be able to read and interpret drawings/prints
Working knowledge of Computer Based Management Systems is a plus
Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
Ability to work as a key member and leader of a team when required
