Overview
The Business Analytics Manager plays a pivotal role in the effective management, governance, and delivery of analytics solutions within the hospital setting. This position is responsible for overseeing business intelligence tools, report objects (RO), system integrations, data governance, and analytics platforms to support organizational decision‑making.
This is a hybrid position and will require on site presence weekly.
Essential Duties
Operations
Collaborate with clinical, operational, and financial leaders to align analytics priorities with key organizational goals.
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the analytics team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Cogito Reporting and Operations Management
Oversee the governance, creation, and maintenance of report objects (RO).
Manage Cogito tools and processes, including:
Upgrades, Novas, and Checklists
Radar Dashboards and Scorecards
SlicerDicer and Workbench
Cogito SQL and Extract Framework
Metrics tracking and enhancements.
Develop SQL‑based reporting solutions using SSRS, SSAS Tabular Cubes, Power BI, Tableau (end‑of‑life).
Lead the end‑to‑end report request process, from identification and gathering to execution and delivery.
Cogito Systems Administration
Manage and maintain ETL processes, backups, and upgrades for Clarity, Caboodle, SQL Server, SSAS, and Custom ETL.
Manage Linux server environments.
Ensure the reliability and performance of Cogito environments.
Web Application Development and Management
Administer and enhance custom web applications, including Atlas (Hub, System, Documents), Report Request Portal, Carevan, GIT repository management, and Manage Engine.
Drive web‑based analytics initiatives and ensure seamless integration with other platforms.
Vendor Extracts
Oversee the automated web application managing 27,000+ annual tasks.
Ensure extract reliability and compliance with vendor requirements.
Data Governance
Create and update documentation for ROs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Manage and curate term definitions, collections, and the report catalog to ensure governance compliance.
Regularly review and optimize reporting assets for alignment with organizational needs.
Survey Creation and Management
Play a key role in the preparation and submission of surveys, including Leapfrog, IDPH Annual Hospital Questionnaire (AHQ), and Medicare Cost Reports.
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years in business analytics or a similar role in healthcare.
Strong background in business intelligence platforms, ETL processes, and SQL‑based reporting.
Experience managing Clarity, Caboodle, or other healthcare analytics systems is highly desirable.
Proficiency with SQL, SSRS, SSAS Tabular Cubes, Power BI, and Tableau.
Strong understanding of data governance principles and practices.
Familiarity with web application development tools and GIT repository management.
Preferred Experience
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proven track record in project management and cross‑departmental collaboration.
Required Licensure/Education
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Preferred Education
Master's degree preferred.
