Overview
Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO) offers a free and impartial service helping people put things right with their local council or adult social care provider. We act with impartiality and make fair decisions after listening to both sides of the story and weighing up all the evidence.
Role
Team Co-ordinator. Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO). Hybrid working – allocated to offices in Coventry or York. For over 50 years we have been the voice of the public.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality administrative support to a team of Investigators, with responsibilities that go beyond routine administration.
Manage correspondence, oversee team processes, minute meetings and take an active part in casework—including making decisions on complaints and monitoring compliance with our recommendations.
Work with a wide range of people, from senior colleagues to members of the public; apply sound judgement and professionalism.
Qualifications/Requirements
Strong track record in busy, multi-stakeholder administrative roles.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to take ownership of workload and work with confidence.
Benefits & Working Arrangements
Hybrid and flexible working; allocated to Coventry or York offices with in-person attendance as required for tasks such as managing post, team meetings, and training.
Local Government Pension Scheme.
25 days annual leave rising to 28 with service.
