
Night Shuttle Van Operations Manager

Overview
The Night Shuttle Van Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing night‑shift Crew van shuttle services supporting UPS aviation (pilot and flight crew transportation). This role ensures delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring operational excellence, safety, efficiency, and on time movement of pilots and UPS personnel between terminals, aircraft, lodging, and designated facilities.
The manager provides direct supervision of drivers, ensures compliance with safety and NON-DOT standards, and maintains high service levels in a time‑critical environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, solution‑oriented, and skilled at communicating across multiple levels of complex, fast‑paced, unionized environment. Occasional work outside standard business hours may be required to meet operational needs.
Compensation:
$75,000 annual salary (US Dollars)

Responsibilities
Operations Management
Oversee the 1DA all night‑shift shuttle van operations in support of UPS pilot and 30-36 ABM crew transportation.
Ensure all transportation schedules align with UPS flight operations and crew movement requirements.
Maintain a strong Presence in the operation through regular observation, participation, and communication.
Respond in real time to assign crew van drivers and supervisors for flight delays, cancellations, or schedule changes.
Investigate and resolve operational issues, including client concerns, customer complaints, accidents, delays, and employee disputes.
Utilize client systems such as Crew Van Visibility (CVV), Mosaic Situational Viewer (MSV), Flight crew records Database, Flight OPS Jump seats, Airhub, iGate Training, Ramp Control Center Tailsheet Generator, and Netline.
Manage supplies, fleet vehicles, radios, iPads, and other operational resources.
Staff Supervision & Leadership
Supervise and support shuttle van drivers, lead drivers, and dispatch personnel.
Conduct shift briefings, post‑shift reviews, and performance coaching.
Ensure adequate staffing levels; manage call‑offs, overtime, and emergency coverage.
Enforce ABM and UPS policies, work rules, and professional conduct standards.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with ABM and UPS regulations, airport security rules, and UPS safety standards.
Conduct vehicle inspections, safety audits, and incident investigations.
Enforce fatigue management, hours‑of‑service compliance, and defensive driving practices.
Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
Customer & Client Relations
Serve as the primary night‑shift point of contact for UPS operations leadership.
Address and resolve service issues, escalations, and pilot concerns promptly and professionally.
Maintain a high level of customer service for flight crews and UPS personnel.
Administrative & Reporting Duties
Complete daily operational reports, incident logs, and shift summaries.
Track KPIs such as on‑time performance, safety metrics, and attendance.
Support payroll accuracy, timekeeping approval, and personnel documentation.
Communicate handoff details to day‑shift management.
Union and Compliance
Ensure adherence to ABM policies and the Teamsters Local 89 CBA.
Participate in grievance processes and collaborate with union officials, stewards, and ABM Leadership.
Maintain working knowledge of all operational roles to provide coverage when needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications Required
High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Minimum 2–4 years of transportation, logistics, or fleet operations experience.
3–4 years of supervisory or management experience.
Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain airport badge and pass background checks.
Strong working knowledge of safety, DOT, and vehicle operation standards.
Preferred
Experience in aviation, airline, or airport ground operations.
Knowledge of shuttle, motor coach, or fleet management systems.
Experience managing 24/7 or night‑shift operations.
Skills & Competencies
Strong leadership and decision‑making under pressure.
Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and reporting skills.
