Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer at Xerox focuses on improving and supporting the production of printing and document technology products. The role blends engineering, process optimization, and problem‑solving to ensure efficient, high‑quality manufacturing.

Shifts

Second Shift – 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM Monday to Friday (Sat Sun Off)

Primary Responsibilities

Provide process and packaging shift engineering support coverage to insure equipment reliability, product quality, operator training and safety/environmental compliance.

Develop and maintain operator and equipment changeover procedures, operating procedures, training materials, preventive/predictive maintenance procedures and lockout/tagout procedures.

Provide mechanical design support using CAD systems to facilitate fabrication of parts and components for production and safety continuous improvement activities.

Track packaging and process OEE to continuously improve equipment availability/uptime, performance/rate, quality and yield.

Support new product enabling activities and PMCs and collaborate to optimize new processes.

Support implementation of critical plant projects and corrective action/preventative action relating to environmental, health/safety, and quality incident investigations.

Provide direct maintenance support for equipment and systems troubleshooting and training.Specify and help procure spare parts and support services for production equipment. Generate blanket purchase orders for spare parts buyers.

Manage process automation and productivity projects to improve plant performance and drive OEE; create implementation plans, prioritize tasks and closely manage project milestones of assigned projects; identify options and contingencies to keep numerous active projects on track.

Required Qualifications

BS in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

0–3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing project engineering experience.

Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, ability to analyze technical issues, define/solve problems, establish project plans, statistically evaluate solutions, and draw valid conclusions.

Innovative, decisive, results‑oriented individual contributor with strong problem‑solving skills.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and Outlook.

Working knowledge and ability to apply Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in PLC and robotic programming and commissioning.

Distributed Control System (DCS) experience.

AutoCAD experience.

Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and OSHA requirements.

Additional Information

This role may require occasional travel to support suppliers, manufacturing builds, or field investigations.

Candidates must be able to work on‑site in Webster, NY.
