Responsibilities
Establish and provide written justification to evaluate equipment features and determine the most cost-effective option under general supervision.
Coordinate and provide property controls, enter calibration cycles through metrology departments to maintain equipment accuracy.
Submit requests and justifications in accordance with company procedures or policy after approval.
Assist equipment procurement by researching and investigating requirements for material handling equipment and evaluating quotations from potential suppliers.
Process billing and cost charge, and prepare budget and justification for equipment.
Maximize efficiencies and implement improvements for cost-effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applications.
Provide logistics support analysis by applying established company policies and procedures in accordance with domestic and international laws.
Develop warehousing material flow, equipment layout, and capital budget to store assembly and support materials.
Assist in calculating volume, storage requirements, quantity and type of storage and handling equipment needed for high-efficiency, low-cost warehouse operations.
Maintain employee awareness for hazardous materials general familiarization, function-specific, and safety requirements by providing walk-through support to meet federal and international regulations.
Oversee training and compliance for implementation of HM-232 (Hazardous Materials Security Plans) for receiving, storing, and shipping hazardous materials (dangerous goods).
Evaluate, classify, and develop packaging instructions for hazardous materials.
Plan markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and International regulations.
Qualifications
Familiar with Engineering Drawings – read and interpret.
Ability to utilize multiple systems – reviewing contract information, manipulating software information.
Industrial packaging experience – aerospace or automotive preferred.
Warehouse operations experience.
Decision making ability.
Nice to have: experience with dangerous goods and transportation.
Education
Some college or Bachelors in a technical field.
Pay Rate Range
Minimum Pay Rate: $45 per hour.
Maximum Pay Rate: $50 per hour.
