Contract - Electrical Engineer
Candidates must reside within commuting distance of our Boulder, CO office. Relocation assistance is not available. Only local candidates will be considered.
This is a short‑term electrical engineering contractor position focused on the analysis and redesign of a customer Ethernet switching PCBA. The contractor will evaluate the current implementation, identify a cheaper, more reliable board‑mounted Ethernet switch, and redesign the PCBA to fit existing size and connector constraints. Responsibilities also include working with the purchasing team for quoting and procuring first prototypes, bringing up prototypes, working with firmware engineers to revise the board firmware as necessary, and supporting testing and EC release. The contract is expected to last approximately five months at an average of 20 hours per week.
Qualifications
Ethernet stack and switching
PCBA schematic analysis and revision
PCBA card layout and implementation, especially incorporating high‑speed lanes
PCBA bring‑up and test
Firmware design and implementation using C/C++
Compensation & Duration
Compensation: $110‑$130 per hour.
Estimated duration: About 20 hours per week for five months (variable due to supplier wait times).
