This role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no call or weekend requirements for outpatient services. Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care may include approximately one weekend rotation per month. There are no holiday shifts, and free parking is provided. The position involves working with complex and diverse patient diagnoses, including spinal cord injuries, TBI, strokes, amputees, orthopedic surgeries, neuro diagnoses, pediatrics, and medically complex patients, primarily in inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing settings.
Candidates must possess:
- Current Louisiana PT or PTA license
- At least 1+ years of experience in a specialty setting
- Ability to independently manage caseloads and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC, Meditech Expanse, Wellsky, and AOD
- Support staff including supervisor, assistant director, and peer therapists
Additional skills that are a plus:
- Experience with diverse patient populations and diagnoses
- Ability to adapt to different clinical settings
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred education and experience:
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program
- Prior experience in inpatient rehab, acute care, or outpatient orthopedic and neuro settings
Other requirements:
- Current BLS certification; additional certifications like ACLS, NIHSS are advantageous
- Valid driver s license and insurance if travel is applicable
