Service Setting: Hospital Emergency Department
Schedule: Approximately 16 shifts per month with a mix of day and night coverage
PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics presenting with acute and emergent medical conditions
Average Daily Volume / Census: Carrollton ED approximately 65,000 visits annually; Villa Rica ED approximately 45,000 visits annually
Admissions & Rounding: Admissions coordinated through hospital services; no inpatient rounding required
Consults & Follow-Ups: Yes, with specialty consultation available as needed
Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: Full-spectrum emergency medicine including trauma, medical emergencies, acute illness, and injury stabilization
FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
Beds in Department/Unit: Carrollton Emergency Department 40 beds; Villa Rica Emergency Department 36 beds
Trauma Designation: Both Emergency Departments designated as Level II Trauma Centers
EMR System: EPIC electronic medical record system
Specialty Backup: Full specialty support available through the Tanner Health System
Support Staff: Advanced Practice Providers including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
Leadership & Reporting Structure: Physician-led democratic emergency medicine group
Reason for Opening: Continued growth and sustained community demand for emergency care services
CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE
Board Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
DEA & Certifications: Active DEA required; ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications preferred
Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 6090 days

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
State License Required: Eligible for or able to obtain a Georgia medical license
Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS preferred
Experience: Open to both experienced physicians and newly trained Emergency Medicine physicians
Additional Requirements: Ability to work within a collaborative, physician-led emergency medicine group
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illness and injury
Rapidly evaluate, diagnose, and stabilize patients across a wide spectrum of medical conditions
Coordinate care with hospital specialists, nursing staff, and advanced practice providers
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EPIC electronic medical record system
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
