HR Coordinator / Generalist
A well-established international financial institution in Manhattan is seeking an HR Coordinator / Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for the New York office.
Base salary $90-110k depending on skills and experience
This role works closely with management and employees on a wide range of HR matters including payroll coordination, benefits administration, employee records, onboarding, and HR compliance.
It is currently a manual environment and will be converted to an automated environment. Experience with a conversion is helpful.
The role is Hybrid, but the first 90 days are on-site for training
Key Responsibilities
Support payroll processing and HR reporting
Administer employee benefits, enrollments, and leave programs
Maintain employee records and HR systems
Prepare new hire onboarding and exit documentation
Conduct I-9 verifications and coordinate background checks
Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and benefits
Assist with payroll and benefits reconciliations
Maintain attendance and HR records in compliance with company policies
Coordinate with vendors and head office on HR matters as needed
Support HR reporting and administrative functions
Qualifications
5+ years of HR generalist or HR coordinator experience
Experience with payroll and benefits administration
Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws
Excellent communication and organizational skills
High level of discretion and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Experience with ADP / HRIS systems preferred Tech-savvy and detail-oriented
Someone who knows how to process benefit enrollments, disenrollments, and make changes, with extensive benefit knowledge that can coordinate benefits to employees. Some accounting, bookkeeping, and general ledger experience would be helpful too. Someone good with invoices who can pay bills and work with vendors.
