Metrology Technician
Ellaway Blues Consulting, Des Moines, IA, United States
We are currently seeking a Metrology Technician for a client operating within the power generation and industrial engineering sector based in Missouri.
This is a hands-on role focused on dimensional inspection of high precision components, with a strong emphasis on 3D scanning and data analysis. You’ll be responsible for interpreting scan data, validating design intent, and working closely with engineering and production teams to resolve issues and improve overall quality.
Key Responsibilities
Executing and interpreting 3D scans using blue light systems (ATOS or similar)
Supporting engineering teams with fit, form, and manufacturing challenges
Contributing to inspection process improvements and best practice
Supporting root cause analysis on non-conforming components
From a profile perspective, this will suit someone with a background in metrology, dimensional inspection, or quality within a precision manufacturing environment. You’ll need to be comfortable working hands-on with scanning equipment, interpreting data, and operating with a level of independence. Experience within turbine, aerospace, or similarly high-tolerance environments would be beneficial, but not essential if the fundamentals are strong.
This is a good opportunity to step into a technically focused role with real ownership in a well-invested and growing environment.
