Job Overview
Employees in this role identify, analyze, negotiate, and structure potential commercial transactions in power and/or fuel, including joint dispatch, acquisitions, and new business start‑up opportunities. The position leads the financial analysis and due diligence activities to assess the benefits and risks of potential opportunities. It engages in direct communication with potential counterparties and requires strong financial, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and oral.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Identifies and analyzes pertinent data and information associated with potential transactions to enhance value for FPL
Engages in direct communication with potential counterparties to gather market information
Tracks and reports market trends and identifies transaction opportunities beneficial to FPL
Performs financial and economic analysis and possesses an understanding of the energy market and terminology
Assists with presentations to senior management, including the FPL Operating Committee
Performs other job‑related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School graduate or GED
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration
Master’s degree (any field)
