What You’ll Be Doing

Provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities.
Engage with the public and conduct community outreach.
Manage referrals from general intake, community organizations, school systems, and other referrals.
In this role you will provide services in one of three functional areas:
General Counselors

— Conduct intakes, review records for eligibility, perform assessments, provide career counseling and individualized services to eligible transition age youth and/or adults, and develop partnerships through community outreach.
Level Up Counselors

— Support high school students with disabilities by partnering with schools, students, and families to provide pre-vocational services and information needed for the transition from high school to the workforce.
Workforce Counselors

— Build relationships with employers, market BRS services, educate employers on benefits of hiring clients, and secure placement and training opportunities based on labor market trends.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree from an accredited college with a major in vocational rehabilitation counseling, psychology, special education, or related behavioral or social sciences.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with high school students or adults with disabilities, including Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals.
Experience providing outreach to the Deaf community and to community agencies, including conducting presentations.
Experience with an electronic case management system, Outlook, and video conferencing platforms.
Experience managing competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Experience using assistive technology and communication resources for deafness and hearing loss.
Experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders in American Sign Language.
Special Requirements

Incumbents must obtain the educational qualification for the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor 1 and meet the current national standard for CRC as specified by CRCC.
Incumbents must maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or identification card.
Incumbents may be required to travel with or without accommodation.
