Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor (2600030E)
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor to manage a team of Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and oversee client service delivery, program development, and administrative functions. The role requires leadership, budgeting, counseling, and community partnership skills.
Responsibilities
Supervise day‑to‑day service delivery and ensure timely support for participants.
Co‑create and monitor counselor caseloads, expenditures, and performance evaluations.
Provide coaching, training, and regular performance feedback to staff.
Manage referral and intake processes, address participant concerns, and prepare program reports.
Represent OOD with partner organizations, committees, and outreach initiatives.
Resolve operational issues, investigate inquiries, and maintain accurate records.
Assist with administrative projects statewide and, when needed, temporarily perform counseling duties.
Qualifications
Three years experience as a vocational rehabilitation counselor or program specialist with OOD, or
Completion of an undergraduate core program in human services with five years of counseling experience in a private or governmental agency, or
Completion of a graduate core program in human services with four years of counseling experience in a private or governmental agency, or
Equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment.
Knowledge of budgeting, employee development, supervision, counseling, public relations, office management, and OOD policies and procedures.
Strong reasoning, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency software.
Ability to work well with diverse individuals and handle sensitive situations professionally.
Pay & Benefits
Base hourly rate: $39.22 with annual salary ranging from $81,578 to $116,459, increasing through steps 1–8 over time. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and retirement plans, as described in the State of Ohio Total Rewards program.
Location Requirements
The role is primarily in‑office at OOD Springfield. Employees must reside within reasonable travel distance to the workplace and have own transportation or a valid driver’s license for state vehicle operation.
