We are looking for an EPG Service Technician to join our operations at Louisiana Cat in Bossier City, LA.

Position Summary
The person in this role will be responsible for servicing and repairing power systems of all makes and models, performed in the shop and in the field.

Salary Potential
$60,000 - $120,000 yearly range (representative of hourly rate, including typical overtime. Based on experience, skills, education, and training.)

Your Contribution

Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on diesel and natural gas engines, generators, controls, automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, and fuel supply systems.

Accountable for EPG technical instructions, safety and service manuals for Louisiana Cat.

Interpret electric and electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic.

Create, track, and formalize work order documents on Caterpillar customer service report software systems.

Understand Caterpillar exchange parts process and financial cost analysis of repairs for customers.

Promote the Louisiana Cat brand by maintaining a standard of excellence.

Your Value

Understand single phase and three phase circuit theory and AC/DC circuit theory; proficient in the use of test equipment.

Promote positive customer service according to Caterpillar and Louisiana Cat expectations with customers and the management team.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required).

Strong mechanical aptitude (required).

Basic computer skills including typing, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook (required).

2+ years of electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting experience on 8.5kW-2,500kW diesel and natural gas powered generators, ATS, and paralleling switchgear (highly preferred).

Commercial/industrial electrical or controls experience (highly preferred).

Heavy equipment engine experience (highly preferred).

Prior experience with rental equipment (highly preferred).

Must own required tool inventory.

Strong customer service skills and safety-first mentality.

Job Facts

Work shift: 40+ hours weekly; may require additional hours for emergencies or routine services; occasional overnight travel expected.
