
FACE: College & Career Readiness | K-12 College & Career Readiness Coordinator

PURPOSE
The K-12 College and Career Readiness Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the K-12 College and Career Readiness team to coordinate, plan, organize and implement college and career readiness activities, programs, workshops and services involved in facilitating, enhancing and improving student advocacy and K-12 College and Career Readiness. Serve as a liaison between K-12 College and Career Readiness Office parents, students, and school staff. Perform a variety of duties in support of the K-12 College and Career Readiness Director and K-12 College and Career Readiness staff. Monitor, analyze, record, evaluate, investigate, and implement supports to help meet the needs of FWCS students and families and provide support for post‑secondary success.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in education
Must have strong interpersonal, planning, administrative, supervisory, analytical, computer, organizational, data analysis, and oral/written communication skills.
Knowledge of college and career readiness counseling techniques, Indiana Diploma requirements, Schools of Success and local, regional, national colleges and universities.
Must have project management and planning skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work closely with the K-12 College and Career Readiness team to ensure students have the education, knowledge, and skills necessary for post‑secondary education and careers.
Ensure students and their families are engaged in college and career readiness activities.
Plan, organize and monitor data‑informed K-12 College and Career Readiness programming.
Provide leadership in assuring proper and timely responses to students and families.
Coordinate, organize, support, and monitor K-12 College and Career Readiness Success Nights, workshops, trainings, college visits, career exploration visits and parent academies.
Work closely with Middle School College and Career Readiness Student Advisors regarding Naviance, Career Pipelines, Guaranteed Experiences, Graduation Plans, Transition Programs and other activities.
Support schools in achieving district goals for K-12 College and Career Readiness, including, but not limited to, FAFSA completion initiatives, analysis and monthly reporting of FAFSA data, and 21st Century Scholars tracking.
Increase educational expectations for K-12 students and families, including support for dual credit access and success and coordination of test‑preparation bootcamps.
Increase family knowledge of post‑secondary education options, preparation, financial literacy and scholarships.
Coordinate taking students to conferences, college and career fairs, AMP & Career Academy visits and other post‑secondary readiness events.
Communication and Support
Communicate effectively and regularly with the Director of K-12 College and Career Readiness.
Collaborate with K-12 College and Career Readiness staff to plan and organize college and career readiness programs and events.
Support maintenance and enhancement of the K-12 College and Career Readiness website and social media platforms, ensuring accurate, timely and engaging content that effectively communicates resources, scholarships, opportunities and key initiatives to students, families and staff.
Serve as a liaison between students and families as it relates to college and career opportunities programming.
Communicate with parents/guardians the information and resources needed for any support activities to enhance student opportunities.
Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports.
Submit all necessary reports and documents to the Director of K-12 College and Career Readiness in accordance with established timelines and requirements.
Physical Requirements
Communication Skills: Speak clearly and hear effectively in various environments.
Manual Dexterity: Adeptness in the use of hands and fingers.
Postural Endurance: Sit or stand for prolonged periods as required.
Flexibility: Bend at the waist, kneel or crouch to perform specific duties.
Visual Acuity: Close vision ability with capacity to adjust focus.
Mobility: Freedom to sit or walk at will throughout the work environment.
Strength and Stamina: Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds or more.
Outdoor Work: Tolerance of working outside in various weather conditions.
Working Conditions: School‑based assignments with possible travel between buildings. Frequent interactions with students with significant behavioral needs. May involve supporting students in crisis situations in accordance with FWCS guidelines.
