Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Buyer, you are responsible for managing the pharmaceutical inventory in the assigned hospital, including purchasing pharmaceuticals and related products, oversight of receipt and placement of these items in stock, and optimization of pharmacy inventory both in the facility pharmacy and automated cabinets. This position ensures that all pharmaceutical products are appropriately labeled with barcodes, including repackaging of products for patient administration.

Key Responsibilities

Assume primary responsibility for the organization and cleanliness of drug storage areas.

Assist the automation coordinator or equivalent with Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADU) inventory management, including maintenance of controlled substance inventory and handling requests for addition of new items to the pharmacy inventory.

Assist in training personnel on inventory handling and oversee workflow in the pharmacy when the tech supervisor or pharmacy manager is unavailable.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED certification.

Licensure as Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy.

Previous hospital experience as Pharmacy Buyer or Pharmacy Technician preferred.

1 year experience as Pharmacy Technician or 2 required.
