The Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operations of the organized medical staff and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This role manages the preparation and maintenance of official documentation related to medical staff activities and reporting requirements. The Program Coordinator provides administrative support to medical staff committees, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up on action items. Additionally, the position plays a key role in supporting managed care auditing processes by overseeing credentialing activities delegated by Managed Care Organizations, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, coordinating with internal departments, and maintaining compliance with contractual obligations.

Key Functions

Management of Medical Staff Committees – Maintain, facilitate, and manage documentation for regulatory and accreditation reporting; provide administrative support to committees, including meeting coordination, follow‑up, and roster maintenance.

Risk Management Education Credit Tracking – Coordinate and distribute monthly compliance reports to clinical departments and providers in alignment with UT requirements for Risk Management Education (RME).

Managed Care Delegation Compliance – Collaborate with the credentialing team to ensure delegation requirements are met, developing and maintaining policies and procedures in line with managed‑care obligations.

Medical Staff Liaison – Serve as liaison between committee members and medical staff leadership, ensuring accurate submissions of RME and clear communication of committee matters.

Education

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.

Preferred:

Master's degree.

Experience

Required:

Three years of project/program coordination experience. Additional years of equivalent experience may substitute for the required education one to one. With a preferred degree, one year of required experience.

Preferred:

Experience in a Medical Staff Office, in a credentialing capacity with familiarity with medical staff governance.

Other

Preferred: CPCS, CPMSM Certification.
