
Communications Internship, Summer 2026

This internship is designed to provide students with hands‑on learning experience in social media and digital communications. The intern will work under the guidance of the Social Media Coordinator to gain exposure to content drafting, editing, scheduling, and engagement tracking. Through supervised, project‑based assignments, the intern will develop practical skills in social media strategy, digital analytics, and communications best practices while supporting the work of the Communications team.
Social Media Content Creation & Writing
Learn and apply best practices for writing, editing, and proofreading social media content under the guidance of the Social Media Coordinator
Assist with drafting and preparing social media posts for review, focusing on tone, clarity, accuracy, and brand voice
Conduct basic research to support social media and communications projects as part of skill development
Social Media Operations & Engagement
Observe and support the planning and maintenance of the social media content calendar, gaining exposure to content strategy and scheduling processes
Monitor social media platforms for public questions and comments and assist with documenting engagement trends, under supervision
Analytics, Reporting & Organization
Support the collection and organization of social media analytics and engagement data as a learning exercise in digital reporting
Maintain organized files and records related to content drafts, calendars, and reports
Learning, Professional Development & Compliance
Participate in instructional discussions and hands‑on learning related to digital communications, audience engagement, and campaign evaluation
Complete assigned projects designed to support educational growth in communications and marketingFollow department procedures and workplace policies while developing professional communication and organizational skills
Education & Academic Standing
Second‑year college student or recent graduate (2 years or less) in communications, marketing, or a related program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Technical & Communication Skills
Ability to work on both PC and MAC platforms
Strong skills in writing, editing, and proofreading
Ability to research and communicate information effectively and accurately
Professional & Organizational Abilities
Courteous and professional interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills
Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures, including safety protocols
